During the month of May...

...Layla found that her toes are her favorite chew toys!

...Josh "borrowed" my camera, again.
(which now explains the white film on all pictures since then, now that I see them on screen)

...Daddy got some Layla-time in before she went to Ohio for 5 days.

...Layla met her new cousin, Owen Lee Goates. (mom's and dad's 1st nephew) She also LOVED having Grace there to giggle with, and tons of adult attention for babies only!
(aka: Camp Cousins)

...Oh, and Layla weened herself to bottles. She still nurses a couple times a day, but that's one less thing for mom to do during June!

...Josh has become obsessed with puzzles. He is really fast to. While the boys were here alone for a few days, Josh and Dad completed a 500 piece puzzle!!

And here is just a stinkin' cute video!!

SEA WORLD

San Diego

We were SO lucky, excited, and just ready to spend a week in San Diego. Our family rented a house ON THE BEACH with Dan's mom and stepdad. (Niki & Dan Bienkowski) Dan B. is not only "Grampa Dan" but our in-house photographer!

MISSION BEACH
We spent the sunnier parts of the day playing in the sand.
(FYI, June-gloom starts in May)

By the last day, Josh finally played in the ocean with me. Jack, however, would not even cross over to the "wet" sand! But we scored in the sea shell - collecting.

Our beach baby!

SAN DIEGO ZOO
We all loved the San Diego Zoo.

Some of the wild life... that we had to leave in the park.
The other monkeys came home with us.

THE MIDWAY
Josh and Jack in the Brig. Though, this trip they didn't "earn"any time there! They were the best little travelers.

Seriously, this place is PERFECT for little boys!

WILD ANIMAL PARK

YUMMY EATS

ALL OF US

We love you Granny and Grampa Dan. Let's do it again soon!

Go to THIS site for VERY current pictures. (like from today)

You won't want to miss it!

THIS...

...is the kind of dog we want.
(in a year or so)

What is it, you ask?

A special breed-mix of a Chihuahua and a Dachsund.

CHIWEENIE!!!

(Say the name a couple of times and tell me it isn't the CUTEST thing ever!)

Modern Family

WHERE HAS THIS SHOW BEEN?

or

WHY HAVE I BEEN AVOIDING IT?

I am watching them on Hulu, and trying to laugh quietly since it's nap time!

Favorite line so far:

"I will always remember him as the stranger holding my baby."

Sibling Training

Come to the

Montague Big-Sis/Bro Training Camp

...where our "pros" teach specialized courses in:

*helping with bathing*

Here, Oldest-Brother Josh is teaching soon-to-be Big Sis Lucy how to clean off all of the day's spit-up stains and smells.

Pictured above is Older-Brother Jack teaching a great strategy for night-time-soothing baths.

Occasionally, our staffers will allow themselves to be practiced on to give critical feedback for soon to be siblings.

Jack is quick to remind his trainees not to wrap anything around a baby's neck, even a towel after a bath.

Lucy wasn't afraid to participate!!

Layla is our baby-in-resident, and our official skill-tester. She is quick with a smile if a job is done right.

Another skill taught:
*nap time duties*
Siblings should stage a comfortable sleeping environment, which means quiet voices and toys, and only the softest of blankets.

Final skill taught:
*play/TV/snack time*
Yes, a sibling should remember to take some time for him/herself. Being an older brother or sister can be quite exhausting.

Layla gave Lucy her official OKAY as all the "babies" were well cared for during this day of training.

Good luck to Lucy in her new role!

*no real water was used during the "bath time"
*no babies or glow-worms were harmed during this training
